Specifications
- Chip / SoC
- Espressif ESP32-C6 in an ESP32-C6-WROOM-1 module[1]
- CPU
- RISC-V high-power core plus a low-power RISC-V core[2]
- Clock
- Up to 160 MHz (low-power core up to 20 MHz)[2]
- RAM
- 512 KB high-power SRAM, 16 KB low-power SRAM[2]
- Flash
- 8 MB[1]
- I/O voltage
- 3.3 V[2]
- Wireless
- Wi-Fi 6 (2.4 GHz 802.11ax); Bluetooth LE 5; IEEE 802.15.4 (Thread, Zigbee)[2]
- USB
- Two USB-C ports: USB serial/JTAG and USB-to-UART[1]
- Upload limits
- 8 MB flash, 320 KB RAM[5]
Upload limits are what a sketch or firmware may use after the bootloader, as the build tools enforce them, not the chip’s full memory.
Can I still use it?
- Arduino framework
- Supported[4]Arduino core for the ESP32 by Espressif.
- MicroPython
- Supported[8]
- CircuitPython
- Supported[7]
- Zephyr RTOS
- Supported[6]
As published by each project, checked weekly. A platform not listed has no published information here, which is not the same as no support.

Gotchas
- 802.15.4 and Wi-Fi share the radio. Thread or Zigbee and Wi-Fi coexist by time-sharing one 2.4 GHz radio; heavy Wi-Fi traffic affects the mesh network.[2]
History and use today
History
Released in 2023, the C6 was Espressif's first chip with Wi-Fi 6 and an 802.15.4 radio, aimed at Matter smart-home devices.[1]
Still useful for
A good pick for Matter, Thread and Zigbee experiments that also need Wi-Fi.
